Trailhead Community Guidelines

Trailhead is a practical community for people living abroad. These Community Guidelines explain how to participate in a way that keeps the platform useful, respectful, and safe for everyone. These guidelines work alongside the Trailhead Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

1. Purpose of the Community

Trailhead exists to help people:

- get settled in a new region

- find useful local information

- share practical recommendations

- ask questions and support each other

The goal is not noise, outrage, or anonymous hostility. The goal is helpful local knowledge and trustworthy community participation.

2. Be Respectful

Treat other users with respect, even when you disagree.

You should:

- speak to others in a civil and constructive way

- assume good intent where reasonable

- keep discussions relevant and helpful

- share corrections without personal attacks

You should not:

- insult, mock, or demean other users

- start arguments for attention

- derail discussions with hostility or repeated bad-faith behavior

3. No Harassment or Discrimination

Trailhead does not allow harassment, intimidation, or discrimination.

This includes content or behavior that targets people based on characteristics such as:

- race or ethnicity

- nationality

- religion

- sex or gender

- sexual orientation

- disability

- family status

- military affiliation

Threats, hate speech, bullying, stalking, and repeated unwanted contact are not allowed.

4. No Illegal Activity

Do not use Trailhead to promote, organize, or facilitate illegal activity.

This includes:

- illegal goods or services

- fraud

- theft

- unsafe or unlawful conduct

- instructions for harming people, property, or systems

Content involving illegal activity may be removed immediately and may be reported where required by law.

5. No Spam or Scams

Trailhead is not a place for spam, deception, or manipulation.

Do not:

- post repetitive promotional content

- mislead users for financial gain

- impersonate people or businesses

- post referral spam or fake offers

- attempt phishing, fraud, or account abuse

Low-trust or misleading content may be removed even if it is not clearly illegal.

6. Marketplace Expectations

If you use marketplace or buy/sell features, be honest and practical.

You are expected to:

- describe items accurately

- disclose relevant defects or limitations

- set fair and clear expectations

- communicate honestly with interested users

Do not post prohibited items, fake listings, or content intended to trick or pressure other users.

Trailhead is not responsible for transactions between users, and users are responsible for their own judgment and safety.

7. Service Recommendation Integrity

Recommendations and service listings should be shared in good faith.

When posting a recommendation or service listing:

- be truthful about your experience

- avoid false claims or inflated promises

- disclose obvious conflicts of interest where relevant

- do not post fake reviews or misleading endorsements

The value of Trailhead depends on trust. Recommendations that appear deceptive, manipulative, or commercially misleading may be removed.

8. Reporting Problems

If you see content that appears unsafe, abusive, misleading, or otherwise against these rules, use the reporting tools available in the app.

Reporting should be used for real problems, not to silence disagreement or retaliate against other users.

False or abusive reporting may itself lead to moderation action.

9. Moderator Authority

Trailhead moderators may take action to protect the community and enforce these guidelines.

Moderation actions may include:

- removing posts or comments

- limiting visibility of content

- issuing warnings

- suspending accounts

- permanently banning users

Moderator decisions are made to protect the safety, usefulness, and integrity of the platform. Trailhead may use automated systems and human review to support moderation.
